Singapore Gardens

Where: 83 & 83A Fairfax Rd, Swiss Cottage, NW6 4DY
Website: http://toptable.co.uk/details.cfm/qs/rid%7C1740/spos%7C7

I can't believe I've been living here for over 3 months and didn't discover this place until now as it is literally 200m from my front door. Manya and I had dinner last night and sampled the rojak, singapore laks and chilli prawns and were very impressed - excellent food and a really nic setting and reasonable prices as well! And it's my local!!!!

I was so enamoured that I actually ordered take away tonight again - the kway teow which had that brilliant smoky flavour I've been missing for ages. I have a feeling that winter is going to see a lot more visits as I work my way through the menu ...

The Morgan Arms

Where: 43 Morgan St, Bow
Website: No official one but details can be found at
this link.

Dre's last meal in London was a quintessentially English pub lunch. But one in style - the food at this quiet pub in between Bow and Mile End does amazing roasts (pictured is Dre's honey roast belly pork with all the trimmings including a massive Yorkshire pudding) and Sunday lunches, and apparently dinners as well (I have been told the dessert platters are absolutely amazing).

The menu includes items like "Baked Brie with Wild Mushrooms wrapped in Puff Pastry, Pickled Fig and Mixed Leaves" so it's not your average pub grub. This is a gastropub with style down leafy avenues and in the warm Sunday afternoon sun it felt like a slice of heaven. (Not to mention being the perfect hangover cure for all our big nights on Saturday).

Definitely worth checking out.
